  • Parent/practitioner workshops at the Puzzle Centre

Puzzle offers training workshops at the centre for parents or practitioners approximately 3 times each term on a variety of topics related to supporting the development of young children with communication difficulties/autism.

 ·         Autism and Early Years Training for schools and other settings

Puzzle Centre has developed a half or whole days training course that can be delivered at schools, nurseries or other organisations. The course is suitable for early years practitioners, teachers, SENCOs, speech and language therapists, portage workers and parents.

You will learn about:

  • How autism affects the development of play, communication and interaction

  • How you can develop attention, communication, play and interaction skills in children with ASDs

  • How to create a visually structured and low arousal environment

  • How to adapt the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to meet the needs of children with ASDs

  • How to include parents
